Oh man, I feel bad for you. The 80's mix tapes should not include Loverboy or Van Halen. While we could tolerate the brief emergence of such wannabe glam metal bands as Quiet Riot and Twisted Sister, our focus is really on other things.
That said, I should confess that I still own a mix tape from 1986 called "Bitchin' summer of '86". I'll have to submit the song list for you, I think you could appreciate it.
Off the top of my head, it has tunes from Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Belinda Carlisle (oh-mi-god-she-was-so-hot-to-us-teenie-boppers-back-then-she-is-no-doubt-responsible-for-the-soiling-of-much-laundry), Eddy Grant (Electric Avenue), Prince, Run-DMC, Morris Day and the Time, Bananarama, Human League, Berlin, INXS, and Falco.
